AfridesignX
AfridesignX is a rally for global design exchanges; for experiment and creative crossings between arts and digital practice; for actively addressing critical moments in history through design. The project brings together designers, technological innovators, curators and material culture scholars from six different cities – Dakar (Senegal), Accra (Ghana), Nairobi (Kenya), Cape Town (South Africa), London (UK) and Oxford (UK) – to investigate new design typologies and visual strategies emerging from African megacities. This project is lead by Cher Potter, London College of Fashion/ Victoria and Albert Museum Senior Research Fellow, as part of a design in society investigation funded by theLeverhulme Trust in partnership with: London College of Fashion, Ashesi University, Oxford University, University of Nairobi, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, L'université Cheikh-Anta-Diop (UCAD).
